Dr. Shyam Das, Ph.D. has shared his techniques with many others with great success. If doctors have told you that you are too old to fix your joints, posture, weight, diabetes, and blood pressure and have no choice except to take medications with side effects, or do surgery or replacement of knees, shoulders, and hips, come and give Hot Breathing a try. Others have tried and benefitted.
Hot Breathing is a combination of isometric exercises, synchronized breathing, and body movements while sitting on your chair!
Hot Breathing is High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), but participants can pace at their ability, may that be 90 years old, 90 pounds overweight, or even a competitive athlete. Participants burn 500 to 1000 calories in one hour with benefits to muscle tone, lungs and heart health, and many important health matrices.
Hot Breathing cycles isometric muscle contraction with aerobic training in an interval training manner. Isometric weight training is necessary for muscle and bone growth. Advanced Hot Breathing participants use extra weights along with muscle against muscle contraction.
The exercises are designed to do at your own pace and the health challenges you face and the benefits you want to achieve. The best benefits come in pushing yourself to your limit but not beyond it and increasing it slowly. Be mindful of your body and the signals it gives you.
You can consult your physician before starting the routines. These exercises are in addition to any medications therapies or treatments that you are currently doing.
Dr. Das, the inventor of Hot Breathing is a PhD in Physics. Due to an accident 15 years ago, he lost his spleen and injured his limbs, which left his belly & limbs fully numbed from the fall & injuries. Belly muscles& extremities were paralyzed for many years. Every day on the hike he used a breathing technique to engage his abdominal muscles. After a few years, he realized his abdominal muscles sensation started coming back. After a few years of practice and improvement In the technique, his belly became as sensitive as before & limbs muscles & nerves became functional.
He realized that it not only made his belly muscles sensitive again, but he lost belly fat and started becoming fitter. He collected several data on himself and shared them with medical doctors. They were surprised. Doctors suggested trying on others if that works. Then he experimented on others and they realized similar benefits. Then he started teaching the technique to others.
High Performance
Hot Breathing cycles isometric muscle contraction with aerobic training. Hot Breathing is done sitting on a chair and you breathe synchronously with maximal activation of all the muscles of the body. Hot Breathing balances the demand for oxygen by the active forces with an increase in the supply of high-oxygenated blood by the new breathing technique.
More oxygenated and active muscles burn more calories and keep them healthy and make you and your joints fit.
Reduction in Hypertension

More oxygenated and active muscles burn more calories and keep them healthy and make you fit and reduce Hypertension.
Hot Breathing Exercises, Conscious Eating, Fiber, Greens, Relaxation, and Weight Control are guaranteed to reduce essential hypertension. See a real example below.
Weight Reduction
YES, you will lose weight by Hot Breathing and providing nutrients to your body. This is not a diet program. You do not feel hungry in this program. Our focus in a training class is fitness, tone, and mobility. To burn fat you need to breathe in lots of oxygen. Therefore, good breathing is a better fat burner.
How do you lose extra weight?
There are only 3 ways you can lose extra weight:
- Reduce your Calories intake (dieting)
- Burn extra Calories by increasing your metabolism (without increasing Calories intake). Hot Breathing will help.
- Do more exercise than you are doing (without increasing Calories intake)? Hot Breathing is an exercise burning calories,
To burn 1 pound of fat you need to breathe in about 3 pounds of Oxygen (about 1000 liters) and breathe out about 1 pound of CO2 (over 200 liters of CO2, plus a small amount of water). Predominantly you lose weight by breathing out CO2. To burn fat you need to breathe in lots of oxygen. Therefore, good breathing is a better fat burner.

Dr. Das, the inventor of Hot Breathing is a PhD in Physics. Due to an accident about 21 years ago, he lost his spleen, which left his belly fully numbed from the cut. Belly muscles were paralyzed for many years. Every day in the hike he used a breathing technique to engage his abdominal muscles. After a few years, he realized his abdominal muscles sensation started coming back. After a few years of practice and improvement in the technique, his belly became as sensitive as before.
He realized that it not only made his belly muscles sensitive again, but he lost belly fat and started becoming fitter. He collected several data on himself and shared them with Medical Doctors (MDs). They were surprised. Doctors suggested trying on others if that works. Then he experimented on others and they realized similar benefits. Then he started teaching the technique to others.
In August 2012 he fell from hiking in Mt. Whitney. Rescuers found him in a coma after 2 days and he was in a coma in hospitals for 3 weeks. He claims he survived and recovered fully because he practiced and taught Hot Breathing.
The following picture shows him in a body bag brought by the rescue helicopter to the hospital.
He was in a coma long period. After he recovered from the comma, his body was wasted and amputations and ligament grafting were a few options left. Dr. Das used the Hot Breathing technique to recover himself to a fully functioning healthy and fit being.
Dr. Das has shared his techniques with many others with great success. If doctors have told you that you are too old to fix your joints, posture, weight, diabetes, and blood pressure and have no choice except to take medications with side effects, or do surgery or replacement of knees, shoulders, and hips, come and give Hot Breathing a try. How long do exercises need to be done to see the effect
The classes are one-hour duration. It is recommended that you do this routine 4 days a week for one hour each day. How long it will take to see the effect, will depend upon your particular condition, challenge, and age.
You will start seeing an increase in mobility, and well-being after a month. Frozen shoulders and joints, knees, arthritis, belly fat reduction, muscle toning, weight loss, and neck, upper, and lower back stiffness will start resolving after 3 months of exercises.
What Age Group Can Attend Classes and Get Benefited
It is suitable for any age group, including kids. But Dr. Das has been teaching presently Hot Breathing exercises to anyone age 18 and above. Oxygenation is fundamental to the body's well-being and survival. Up to 90 years of age have attended the hot breathing classes with many challenges and have benefited. Even athletes, mountain climbers, and runners can improve their performance. Of course, everyone can increase their fitness, muscle tone, flexibility of joints, BMI ratio, and decrease fat, weight, and stress.
The exercises are designed to do at your own pace and the health challenges you face and the benefits you want to achieve. The best benefits come in pushing yourself to your limit but not beyond it and increasing it slowly. Be mindful of your body and the signals it gives you.

What is HOT Breathing? Is it snake oil or scientific?
Hot Breathing is based completely on medical science. It is doing aerobic and isometric exercises with synchronized deep breathing while sitting on your chair. It has a combined effect of high-intensity training, aerobics, running, weight lifting, pushups, and swimming without impacting your joints.
It is all based on the science of oxygenation of muscles resulting in expelling CO2 resulting in weight loss, increase in fitness and tone, muscle mass, mobility of joints and alertness, and sound sleep.
Dr. Das is a Ph.D. in physics and self-taught textbooks of Medicine that MD students go through. He combined the Physics of body mechanics with Physiology. He believes in evidence-based results consistent with medical and other sciences. He wants to share it with others which has been proven in all his participants.

Build core strength, burn belly fat, lose weight, and become fit.
The class teaches breathing synchronously with muscle movement for a fit body. This is based completely on medical science and not on any belief system. Hot Breathing makes you a better breather. Better breathing increases metabolism and enhances stamina and longevity. Participants burn 500 to 1000 calories in one hour with benefits to muscle tone, lungs and heart health, and many important health matrices.
Did you know: to burn 1 pound of fat you need to breathe in about 3 pounds of Oxygen (about 1000 liters) and breathe out about 1 pound of CO2 (over 200 liters of CO2, plus a small amount of water)? Predominantly you lose weight by breathing out CO2. To burn fat you need to breathe in lots of oxygen. Therefore, good breathing is a better fat burner. Better breathing enhances the oxygen supply in the blood and simultaneous activation of muscles increases the oxygen demand. This exercise balances the supply of oxygen with its demand. Although it is a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) without any equipment, participants can pace at their ability, may they be 90 years old, 90 pounds overweight, or even a competitive athletes. Athletes improve performance with better breathing.
The participants improve blood test results including diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol. Mindfulness and Progressive Relaxation are a part of the movement of muscles.
Please bring a Yoga mat, towel, and water, and come in gym attire.
What is Hot Breathing?
Breathing is essential for living and longevity. Hot Breathing maximizes oxygen in the blood through a new technique of piston deep breathing. That uses abdominal muscles effectively reducing belly fat and strengthening core muscles. The technique uses all muscles of the body simultaneously and maximally. Hot breathing is warmer than ambient temperature. Higher temperature relaxes muscles and blood vessels increasing blood vessel diameter. That increases the blood flow in the vessels significantly (blood flow is proportional to the diameter of the power 4 of the blood vessels). The blood rushes more to the active and relaxed muscles. Thus, by activating all muscles of the body simultaneously and maximally synchronously with breathing in a heated environment, you increase oxygen in the blood, which rushes to all the active muscles. More oxygenated and active muscles burn more calories and keep them healthy.
How Hot Breathing compares with other workouts and Yoga?
Hot Breathing is on a chair and you breathe synchronously with maximal activation of all the muscles of the body. Hot Breathing balances the demand for oxygen by the active forces with an increase in the supply of high-oxygenated blood by the new breathing technique. Other workouts (Treadmill, running, bicycling, etc.) are good but each focus on segmented muscle activation. Yoga, the greatest stretching technique for muscles and joints, uses them in a segmented way as well. Pranayama technique of breathing in Yoga focuses on rhythmic deep breathing, which is very good. But it lacks simultaneous and maximal activation of all muscles synchronous with breathing.
Kapalbhati and Bhastrica technique of Pranayama is a great diaphragm and thoracic deep rhythmic breathing respectively, but they are only segmented.
Hot Breathing cycles isometric muscle contraction with aerobic training. Isometric weight training is necessary for muscle and bone growth. Advanced Hot Breathing participants use extra weights along with muscle against muscle contraction.
Hot Breathing is High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), but participants can pace at their ability, may that be 90 years old, 90 pounds overweight, or even a competitive athlete. What lifestyle is necessary for good health and fitness?
Dr. Das’ 5 requirements for a fit and healthy body according to priority:
- Breathing— effective deep breathing to increase the blood oxygenation
- Water— Keep body fully hydrated. If you weigh till thirsty, you are already dehydrated
- Stress Reliever—Sleep, Social interaction, Meditation, Prayer, Music, etc.
- Exercise
- Food-- Proper balance of Nutrients from 6 types of food
Protein, Fibers, Vitamins, Minerals, Fat, and Carbohydrates
Weight goals?
Historically, weight goal is defined by BMI (Body Mass Index) and used as currency clinically. I do not agree with it fully. More important than BMI is Belly size. To calculate your BMI use the following formula:
BMI = 703 x weight in lb/Height in inch2
If your BMI is 25 (for South Asians 23) or above, you are overweight
Desired weight = BMI (23 or 25) x Height in inch2/703
If your weight is more than the desired weight you are overweight.
You will have to lose weight to be fit.
The Law of Physics (Thermodynamics) tells us, you will have to take fewer calories than you are taking to lose extra weight. All extra Calories convert to fat and extra weight.
How do you lose extra weight?
There are only 3 ways you can lose extra weight:
- Reduce your Calories intake (dieting)
- Burn extra Calories by increasing your metabolism (without increasing Calories intake)
- Do more exercise than you are doing (without increasing Calories intake)
